Romantic Hotels in Pokhara for Couples
The best lakeside and hilltop hotels in Pokhara for honeymooners, from luxury resorts to intimate boutique stays.
Pokhara's hotel scene has matured significantly over the past decade. Couples can now choose from international-standard luxury resorts, well-designed boutique properties, and charming family-run guesthouses, all with the Annapurna range as a backdrop.
What Makes a Hotel Romantic in Pokhara
The key factors for a honeymoon hotel in Pokhara are location relative to the lake, mountain views from the room, quality of the restaurant, and whether the property has a spa or private garden. Lakeside properties on the eastern shore of Phewa Lake give the best combination of views and access to restaurants and boat rental.

Don't stress about transport or guides. Sajilo offers verified cabs, luxury tourist buses, and expert guides across Nepal.
Fish Tail Lodge sits on a small peninsula in Phewa Lake, accessible only by a hand-pulled rope ferry. This isolation creates genuine seclusion. The rooms are in traditional Nepali style with modern bathrooms. The garden lawns reach to the water's edge, making sunset hour genuinely magical.
Boutique Mid-Range
Sacred Valley Inn is a well-maintained property in a quiet section of Lakeside with mountain views from the upper floors. The owners are attentive and the breakfast is one of the best in Pokhara. Rooms are clean and comfortable without being flashy.
Butterfly Lodge sits in a garden setting slightly back from the lake. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the outdoor seating area is ideal for evening drinks.
Hillside Properties
The Pavilions Himalayas sits above Pokhara with expansive valley and mountain views. The villas are spacious with private plunge pools. The farm-to-table restaurant sources vegetables from the property's own garden. This is the closest Pokhara comes to a true luxury retreat experience.
What to Ask When Booking
Always ask specifically about mountain view rooms when booking. Some hotels advertise mountain views but only a few rooms actually have unobstructed sight lines. Request a room above the third floor and on the north or northwest side of the building.
Ask whether the restaurant operates year-round. Some Pokhara hotels scale back services in the off-season and your romantic dinner options may be limited.
Getting to Your Hotel
Most Pokhara hotels offer airport pickup for a fixed fee of NPR 500-800. Arrange this in advance. Lakeside is about 20 minutes from Pokhara Airport. If you arrive in Pokhara by bus from Kathmandu, the bus park is at Baglung Bus Park on the western end of Lakeside, and a taxi to your hotel should cost NPR 200-400.
Booking Tips
Book directly with the hotel when possible, especially for small boutique properties. You can often negotiate a complimentary room upgrade or breakfast inclusion. During peak season (October-November, March-April), book at least 6-8 weeks in advance for the best properties.
Mention that you are on your honeymoon when booking. Most Pokhara hotels will make a small gesture such as flowers in the room or a complimentary dessert at dinner.
