Nepalgunj (elevation 165 m) is a bustling border town in Banke District of the western Terai, 4 km from the Indian border and the commercial hub of far-western Nepal. It has daily flight connections to Kathmandu (45 minutes) and is the main air gateway to Bardia National Park (2 hours by road), Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve (2.5 hours), and Upper Dolpo treks. Temperatures can exceed 40 degrees Celsius in April to June -- plan your stay for early morning or late evening activity.
