Zip Lining in Nepal: The Pokhara Zipflyer Experience

Nepal's Pokhara Zipflyer is the steepest zip line in the world — here's what to expect before you fly.

Overview

The Pokhara Zipflyer claims the title of the world's steepest zip line, with a vertical drop of 600 metres and speeds reaching 120 km/h over its 1.8 km cable. You launch from a platform on the Sarangkot ridgeline and descend toward the valley below, with the Annapurna range filling the horizon directly ahead. The ride lasts about 90 seconds of pure adrenaline. Weight limits are 40–120 kg and the minimum age is 10 years. The platform is accessed by jeep from Lakeside Pokhara in about 20 minutes. Cost is approximately NPR 5,500 per person and includes a shuttle, harness fitting, and safety briefing. Most first-timers describe the launch moment — stepping off the platform — as the hardest part, after which pure speed takes over.

FAQ

Q: Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. The Zipflyer limits daily slots, especially in peak season (October–November, March–May). Online booking a week ahead is recommended to secure your preferred time slot.

Q: Is the Zipflyer safe for people with a fear of heights?

Planning this trip? 🎒

Don't stress about transport or guides. Sajilo offers verified cabs, luxury tourist buses, and expert guides across Nepal.

Ironically, many guests with a mild fear of heights find the Zipflyer manageable because you are moving so fast there is little time to look down. However, those with severe acrophobia should start with something less extreme.
