Nepal Adventure Sports 10-Day Itinerary
Nepal offers some of the world's best adventure sports in an astonishing concentration — from high-altitude paragliding and Class IV white-water rafting to bungee jumping above the Bhote Koshi gorge.
Overview
Nepal's geography — from tropical Terai rivers to Himalayan ridgelines — creates a natural adventure sports laboratory. The country is among the world's top destinations for paragliding, white-water rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, bungee jumping, and skydiving. This ten-day itinerary is built for thrill-seekers who want to sample multiple disciplines across multiple landscapes.
Days 1-2: Kathmandu and Bhote Koshi
Day one: arrive and rest. Day two: drive 3 hours east on the Arniko Highway to the Bhote Koshi River. The 160-metre bungee at The Last Resort is one of the longest in the world, suspended over a gorge of turquoise water. The same operators offer canyoning, via ferrata, and swinging (a 300-metre arc over the gorge). Return to Kathmandu for the night.
Days 3-5: Trishuli and Seti River Rafting
Nepal's white-water rivers are world-class. The Trishuli River (Grade III-IV, two to three days, ending near Pokhara) is the most popular multi-day rafting route. Camp on sandy riverbanks, fish for mahseer, and run 17 named rapids including the infamous Upset rapid. Operators provide all equipment. End the rafting at Pokhara on day five.
Days 6-7: Pokhara Paragliding and Zip Line
Pokhara is Asia's paragliding capital. A one-hour tandem flight with a certified pilot above Phewa Lake and Annapurna costs USD 80-100. Day seven: the Pokhara Zip Flyer — 1.8 kilometres of steel cable from 1,590 metres elevation over a 600-metre vertical drop — is one of Asia's most extreme zip lines. Mountain biking on the trails above Sarangkot is excellent for experienced riders.
