The Chisapani-Nagarkot route connects two hilltop viewpoints on the rim of the Kathmandu Valley through Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park forest, covering about 25km over two days.
Overview
Day 1: Taxi or local bus from Kathmandu to Sundarijal (30 min), then hike 3-4 hours to Chisapani (2,175m) through oak and rhododendron forest. Day 2: Chisapani to Nagarkot (2,175m) via the ridge, 5-6 hours of walking. Maximum altitude is around 2,300m โ zero altitude sickness risk. Views on clear mornings include Ganesh Himal, Langtang range, Dorje Lakpa, and occasionally Everest through a gap in the hills. Take a Sajilo cab from your Kathmandu hotel to Sundarijal trailhead on day one morning.
